What Is eMail Marketing?

What Is eMail Marketing and How Does It Work at Impact?

The Basics The distribution of an email message requires two items: a list (or lists) of opt-in email addresses and the message to be sent to those addresses.

The distribution list is uploaded to the eMessaging system. Beyond the email address itself, each record in the list can include information to personalize the message content.

Email messages sent via Impact’s Managed eMail Solutions can be text, HTML or a combination of the two in a single message, known as multipart/alternative (MPA). Messages can also include AOL-friendly formats delivered specifically to AOL addresses.

eMessaging Solutions
When sending messages from a standard email system to many recipients, you have to "blind copy" the recipients to keep them from seeing the distribution list. With eMessaging Solutions, each recipient sees the messages as being individually delivered to them - their email address appears in the "TO" field and it is the only address they see there. Additionally, the "FROM" address will show your name and email address (or your company name and email address). And, of course, the email message also needs a subject to let your recipients know what they are receiving.

A single message can be sent to multiple distribution lists at the same time. The eMessaging system can ensure that each email address only receives a single copy of the message, should an address appear on more than one list. You can store as many different distribution lists on the eMessaging system as you need.

Your message can be delivered right away or scheduled to be delivered starting at a specific day and time.
